That makes the fortified church one of the oldest buildings in F\\u00fcrth.<\\\/p>\\n<h6>History<\\\/h6>\\n<p>As it was common at this time, this church is a somewhat unadorned and rural church. The south entrance, the Tower, west portal and the choir were build in Gothic style. The neo-Gothic interior dates back to the 19th century. The Sacrament House, built from sandstone in around 1500, is the only remaining piece of art. <\\\/p>\\n<h6>Surroundings<\\\/h6>\\n<p>The old town district St. Michael got its name from the St. Michael church. The modernized waterfront promenade is located on Badstra\\u00dfe. As there used to be a river bath back in the times, there is still stairs leading into the river today. The perfect place to cool off during hot summer days.<\\\/p>\\n<p>Also located at the promenade and open to public you can find the old bathing house, a place for cabaret and culture. Besides other art installations, the history of the old river bath is told in an interesting way through the art of photography.<\\\/p>\\n<p>The names of the three Franconian rivers are easy to confuse. That makes the fortified church one of the oldest buildings in F\u00fcrth.<\/p>\n<h6>History<\/h6>\n<p>As it was common at this time, this church is a somewhat unadorned and rural church. The south entrance, the Tower, west portal and the choir were build in Gothic style. The neo-Gothic interior dates back to the 19th century. The Sacrament House, built from sandstone in around 1500, is the only remaining piece of art. <\/p>\n<h6>Surroundings<\/h6>\n<p>The old town district St. Michael got its name from the St. Michael church. The modernized waterfront promenade is located on Badstra\u00dfe. As there used to be a river bath back in the times, there is still stairs leading into the river today. The perfect place to cool off during hot summer days.<\/p>\n<p>Also located at the promenade and open to public you can find the old bathing house, a place for cabaret and culture. Besides other art installations, the history of the old river bath is told in an interesting way through the art of photography.<\/p>\n<p>The names of the three Franconian rivers are easy to confuse. Among others, the design contained a unicorn, a snake, various paradisiac animals, the tree of life and Adam and Even.<\/p>\n<h6>Symbols<\/h6>\n<p>The rainbow is a sign of confidence. Since 1876, the Nuremberg - Bamberg line was also directed via F\u00fcrth, which is why the station was expanded by two buildings.<\/p>\n<p>Until 2003, the station also served as a stop for ICE trains to W\u00fcrzburg and Frankfurt am Main. Due to the fact that the new theatre replaced the former functional building on Rosenstra\u00dfe \/ Theaterstra\u00dfe, the people continued calling the new building city theatre instead of opera house. In addition to acting, music and Dance Theater, the venue also shows ballet and concerts.<\/p>\n<h6>Different plans<\/h6>\n<p>The city theatre was supposed to be built in Ukraine. But the construction plans were then spontaneously used for F\u00fcrth, and it became the city's first building to be equipped with electrical lighting. The Veste as we know it today, was rebuilt in 1979 and has served as a lookout tower ever since.<\/p>\n<p>During the wars, the production of armaments was relocated to the vaults under the Veste. So the production could continue no matter the circumstances, even during air strikes.<\/p>\n<h6>Up in the sky<\/h6>\n<p>162 steps and 28 vertical meters - that\u2019s how far you have to walk. Since 2018 it has been on the German list of intangible cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<h6>Gro\u00df, gr\u00f6\u00dfer, F\u00fcrther K\u00e4rwa<\/h6>\n<p>As the largest street country fair in southern Germany, the Michaelis Kirchweih is also one of the largest folk festivals in Franconia. During its anniversary year in 2007, the K\u00e4rwa counted 1.7 million visitors. Every year there are around 270 people working on the K\u00e4rwa as retailers, in restaurants, in confectionery, in bars,  and managing play- and amusement rides.
